It`s so refreshing and hope giving to read from rational and visionary ppl from both sides who also exist in this forum.

If you start thinking rationaly and but emotions aside anyone should come to the conclusion that both countries are the most riduculious nations existing right now on our beautiful planet. The meager resources and inteligence some have is being wasted on the "crush the other side crusade".

People, have some of you realized that we live in the 21th Century. The advanced nations are talking monthly trips to the mars to figure out how to settle it after they are done with the moon.

We on the other hand have families living on the leftovers from the wealthy nations sit comfortably in a cosy chair somewhere in the west and don`t even have a bad concious agitating for the next call to destroy each other.

People, have you thought how a third person be it a fellow African or Westener or Chinese shake his head disgusted seeing all this hate being spread day in day out?

They might think those people deserve being living on the mercy of the leftovers from us wealthy countries.

Pls, is it so difficult to argue rationaly and logicaly.

These nations the "mighty and beautiful Ethiopia" and the "brave and industrious Eritrea" we both love so dearly have so much in common and could benefit so much from each other if there is a genuine will - and I am very positive that the simple farmer in both countries wishes nothing more than to live in peace and harmony and bring in his next harvest.

But unfortunatly we seem not to be blessed with visionary leaders nor with visionary
citizens.

Oh, dear what a mess are we leaving our future kids behind. Have you ever thougt of that - your own kids?

Take responsibilty for the words you bring forward and always try to view your post from the other persons side. Respect each others country refrain from calling names and try to give a constructive message and be a thinker.

Mr peace lover ... why did you leave the Eritreans out of your equation? Why Ethiopians need to realise the need for peace with Eritrea if there is such a country anyway?

Mr I don't on which side of the camp you are but wake up.  I am an Ethiopian and I wish peace for the people of Ethiopia.  The Eritreans are mature enough to think for themselves.

I don't know whether you are capable of parallel processing but Mr there are thinks that can be done in parallel.  Don't use Famine, AIDS to manipulate your own ideas. DOES ETHIOPIA really need to be in peace with Eritrea to fight these?

The defence forces can handle the Eritrean issue ... and others can work on the other issues ...

I am sorry to hear Tigrians and Eritreans exchanging unpleasant expressions. Whether this or that, a wise member of the societies knows there is no way out of the trap without compassion. Eritreans and Tigrians/Ethiopians must support each other and creat a peace if they want to do something coinstructive in life. No eritrean progress is feasible without Ethiopian comfort and no ethiopian can assume success without securing eritrean comfort. Simple as that. Please put your pride aside and deal with the situation reasonably because our people need peace and simple living. I can not see any reason besides hate and sadism to let the people fight again on this nonesense because they are cousines: like it or not.

The success of either nation is a function of the success of the other. the destructive pride I see here has no substance since we are the poorest nations on earth. where is the pride coming from when we can not even feed ourselves.

Brothers and sisters, it is not about Mekelle or asmara; colonialism or not but the terrible situation at hand that we must ovecome in order to head on forward. Please put yourselves as one of the people at the borders to feel the need for their safety. Trying to instigate war from Atlantic away for the sake of pride is the most selfish, inxconsiderate and worst crime we can do to our needy people.

Peace to Ethiopians and Eritreans

Biased and peace don't go together. Thus, you tried to manipulate us that if we take ASSAB we will be in war for 30 years. Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but if a true Ethiopian is in power, we don't need to fight Eritreans at all. All you have to do is close the boarder for at least five years and Eritrea will collapse and will seat and talk. But, Ethiopian authorities should be strong and Ethiopian in character to be successful. Meles is extremely weak when it comes to Eritrea. Even though he grow up in Adua, he grow up Eritrean mentaly, when he was visiting adi-Quala he used to hear many bad words about Ethiopia, thus, he don't want to associate himself with bad, that is why he desperately want to be Eritrean. Even now, when Eritrea rejects the recent five point’s initiative, he started begging Eritrea to accept the proposal. Believe me I know his anti’s husband and he know Meles when his aunt (mother side) called Meles "kufu Melku"  when he visited the then Eritrea kifeleHager.

The bottom line is that we aren't the one who like war, we don't, but what is ours is ours, we don't flinch for a moment about that.
