We have to bring Meles and Issayas to justice. They are crazy, psychopaths. Eritrea is an ethiopian province and we have to be brought back to itīs motherland Ethiopia. People we can live together under one Government without Meles and Issayas. These two idots are afronazis, who are insentive to our people. Ther are power maniacs, which are ready to use anything under their grip to stay in power. If they were revolutionaries, they should have accepted secession of Eritrea from Ethiopia. Do not we know united we have better chances to survive than becoming indepedent. This is the reality. Eritreans must work hard to liberate themselves from the false propoganda they have been getting from the so-called "Liberation Fronts". Ethiopians on the otherhand must respect every ethinie on equal basis. This can be done and we have a new bright future by working hard to change our Ethiopia into a powerful nation, which would be a country of all from all of us.It is non-sense and counter-productive to insult each other. We are all one and the same people.

Let us hope that we could bring Issayas and Meles to justice. Please let us start to think about our people seriously. Let us not allow foreign powers to divide us. We are one people from one family-the ethiopian family. God bless us!

Berhanu,

Your vision of having both countries united under one umbrella is genuine and heartening if we were living in an ideal world. Unfortunately, so much blood has soaked the land leaving your dream impossibly unrealiazable, at least in our children's lifetime. Meanwhile our best goal, in my humble opion, ought to be to create harmonous societies where people can live in peace.

Let me slightly drift to a different issue here, and I am sure I am gonna get into trouble by making such a point, but as an Eritrean, I am not really happy the fact that you have no sea outlet. The current situation makes you dependent on neighboring countries to do all your trade that requires maritime shippment.

Grabbing land by force for whatever reason, under any circumstance is ill-advised. Perhaps down the road, way down the road, when all emotions are relaxed, I hope that cool-headed leaders will prevail and propose a novel idea of swapping lands, perhaps a sea outlet to you and an agriculturally viable fertile land to us.

The above, unorthodox it may sound, is just my opion looking at issues cartographically, so that we could rest this case once and for all and live prosperiously side by side.

You need to wake up from your day dreams; Eritrea is gone forever from your hands, Ethiopians, and on one, by human power, can undo this.

THANK YOU, FOR YOUR KIND AND GRACIOUS OFFER. BUT I ASSURE YOU THE SOIL OF ETHIOPIA

SOAKED WITH BLOOD EVER SINCE YOU WERE CREATED BY THE COLONIZING MASTER ITALY. HOW CAN ONE FORGET THE THOUSANDS OF BLOOD THIRSTY ASKARIS WHO SHAMELESSLY ATTACKED ETHIOPIA UNDER THEIR MASTER BARATIERI PRIOR AND DURING THE BATTLE OF ADWA. THE GOVERNOR OF TIGRAY RAS MENGESHA YOHANNES, SO  OUTRAGED BY THIS TREASON, INVOKED THE FETHA NEGEST AND WITH THE HESITATION OF THE EMPEROR MENELIK FIVE HUNDRED OF THESE MERCINARIES HAD THEIR RIGHT HAND AND LEFT LEG CUT OFF.BUT THEY NEVER LEARN, THEY CAME BACK AGAIN WITH MUSSOLINI, TO RAPE, KILL, MUTILATE, AND TORTURE THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLE.

NEVERTHELESS THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLE NEVER HOLD A GRUDGE, NO ONE ASKED THEM FOR A GREEN CARD. THEY CAME AND LEFT AS THEY PLEASED. THEY JOINED THE ARMY, EVEN TO RISE TO THE HIGHEST RANK, A CASE IN POINT. OF THE FIFTEEN LIEUTENANT GENERALS THE EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE APPOINTED IN 50 YEARS RULE THREE WERE ERITREAN, AMMAN ANDOM, ISSAYS GEBRE SELLASSIE, AND HAILE BAYKIDAGNE. I DONT EVEN REMEMBER ONE FROM OUR BELOVED TIGRAY. THEY WERE MINISTERS, THEY WERE FARMERS AND MILLIONAIRES. THEY OWNED THE GAS STATIONS, THE BEST HOUSES IN TOWN. WE WENT TO SCHOOL TOGETHER, WE WERE AT THEIR WEDDING, THEY AT OUR FUNERAL. BUT THRU ALL THIS , THAT HATRED, INFERIORITY COMPLEX WAS THE MAIN DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THEIR THINKING.

AS FOR MENGISTU, HE KILLED ALL, HE STOLE FROM ALL, HE IMPRISONED ALL, HE TORTURED ALL, HE EXILED ALL. BUT HOW CAN ONE FORGET ALL THE LIES PASSED AS THE TRUTH IN 1991. ONLY ERITREANS DIED, ONLY ERITREANS FOUGHT, ONLY ERITREANS WON. ONLY ERITREAN DID THIS AND THAT. BUT I TELL YOU A LIE IS A LIE AND MORE LIE NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU REPEAT IT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE TRUTH.

THE BOTTOM LINE, LIKE ADE ISSAYASI SAID, FOR GET HISTORY, WE MADE HISTORY. THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLE WILL MAKE HISTORY, WHEN THEY WILL DEFEAT AND DESTROY THIS HAMASSIEN LIE AND DECEIT.PRAY FOR MELES, BECAUSE WHEN HE DIES YOU WILL DIE. ETHIOPIA WILL BE AVENGED

YE MATA MATA EWENTE YERETA

Gobena,

I just read your response. You peppered your article with some historical facts although your tone was emotionally charged. You have drifted deep in history dating back to 1889 as if we invited the Italians to conquer our land. Africa was sliced and diced among white colonialists, perhaps with the exception of Namibia and Ethiopia. These colonialists who were indoctrinated by Darwin "survival of the fittest" grabbed, snatched and shared virgin lands amongst themselves as if it was a birthday cake. They left behind this Continetal mess for us to clean. You can go back and learn from history, but you can not correct the past.

For just a moment draw your attention across the whole Continent, and think of black Africa. Tribal wars, ethnic conflicts and all the social unrest are the legacy left behind by the likes of Italy and Britain. For over a hundred years now, we fought bitter wars, we destroyed eachother's village, we bombed eachother out, impovershied ourselves and became the laughing stock of the West.  Can't we get along?

I truely believe, the problems we face is solvable. It will be bitter for us to give our ports to you, as it would be bitter for you to give your furtile land to us. But it must happen for both of us to survive. It may take a referendum on both sides to make such historical decisions. I know so many people have died defending the very lands that are at stake. Rest assured though, their death will not be in vain. Because these are the heros on whose graves the pillars of peace will be erected, so that we can live harmonously for eternity.
